Overview

In 2015, we launched our first event, Gdynia Kreatywna, targeting the creative industry and enthusiasts of marketing, sales, and design. This was our first collaboration with the city, and over the years, the event took various forms – from lectures to conferences. This year, we decided to refresh the event's branding. While the previous identity, aligned with Gdynia's modernist style and communication, still served its purpose, we felt the need for a change after a multi-year hiatus. Seizing the opportunity of a grand comeback, we revisited our 9-year-old branding, giving it a fresh look with a modern typography and a unique animation.
This case study explores the seventh edition of Gdynia Kreatywna. The event brought together professionals from the creative industry and those starting their journey in marketing, social media, sales, and trends. We covered topics such as the impact of TikTok and LinkedIn on the market, changes in the fashion industry, and video content creation. We took a comprehensive approach, handling everything from logistics and speaker selection to branding and landing page design.

BRANDING

A new look, new challenges. Evolution, not revolution.

The original branding was still in harmony with the conference’s goals and Gdynia’s modernist style, so a complete overhaul wasn’t necessary. We opted for a minimal yet impactful change. The primary colors were refreshed, and the font was replaced with a more modern one. The old logo’s geometry was retained but simplified, using a clear axonometric projection. Two cubes or one open shape? We leave that to creative interpretation.

We wanted to leverage the spatial motif, so we remodeled the previous design for animation potential. The animated intro visualizes the etymology of the key visual. We used it as a transition between talks and as a communication element on social media and the landing page. Every movement and sound was carefully considered to achieve the desired audiovisual effect, emphasizing a dynamic and spatial perception of the brand.

WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

A pure visual delight. Minimalist design with a focus on detail.

The project needed a dedicated online presence to aggregate all necessary information in the clearest possible way. Web design is our forte, and as both client and executor, we had the freedom to design the interface according to our vision. When designing the landing page, we prioritized usability. It allowed us to enhance the event’s communication and visual impact, increasing its appeal and visibility. The site was designed as a single-pager to maximize usability and present information in a concise and compact way.

We opted for simplicity to facilitate information gathering. However, details can make a significant impact on the overall perception. Micro-animations, parallax effects, animated buttons, and graphic elements—these are all “just” or “as much as” details. We believe it’s the latter. The site is fully responsive, ensuring a great user experience across different devices. We used Webflow as our development platform and carefully considered the responsiveness of the layout using multipliers.

CONFERENCE PRODUCTION

Behind the scenes: from idea to realization.

Organizing a conference is a mix of efficient logistics, creativity, and teamwork. We handled everything from scheduling and participant coordination to comprehensive offline and online promotion. When creating the conference lineup, we focused on diversity and substantive value. The promotional activities included an outdoor campaign with posters in public transportation, offices, restaurants, and cafés throughout Gdynia, as well as effective social media campaigns. We gathered a solid amount of photo and video material to summarize the event and promote future editions.

The venue also played a significant role. We wanted a place that was well-connected, intimate, and could accommodate many guests. We chose Konsulat Kultury—located in the center of Gdynia but slightly off the beaten path, 700 meters from the Main Station, with a 164-seat theater. Its proximity to public transportation made it easily accessible for guests.
